Natural gas and propane line connection runs the fuel supply your standby generator needs to operate – sized correctly for continuous operation, since generators draw fuel differently than typical household appliances and an undersized line will starve the unit under load.
We handle this as part of generator installations throughout Homer, AK, connecting to either an existing natural gas line or a propane tank depending on what's available at your property. Some homes need an entirely new gas line run from the meter or tank to the generator location, while others have existing lines that need to be evaluated for adequate capacity.
We calculate the fuel line sizing based on your generator's continuous fuel demand, then run new line or verify existing line capacity, using proper materials and connections rated for the fuel type and generator draw. All gas work is done to code, with pressure testing before the line goes into service to confirm there are no leaks. We coordinate this work with the electrical and mechanical installation so everything's ready to test together once the generator is in place.
Cost depends on the length of line needed, whether it's new installation or evaluating existing capacity, and the fuel type involved.
